Chapman Corporation continually demonstrates the ability to provide boilermaker services that include 24/7 emergency repairs, routine maintenance, planned major outages, equipment erection and repair, and new project construction in the power, chemical and steel industries.
Chapman is regularly involved in the repair and erection of utility and industrial boiler plants, cogeneration installations and pollution control equipment such as Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) scrubbers. In addition to installing and maintaining boilers and other vessels, Chapman boilermakers also help erect and repair blast furnaces, storage and process tanks, and stacks.
As an alliance partner with a major Southwestern Pennsylvania utility, Chapman helps in the selection, planning, scheduling and performance of all planned and emergency outages as well as routine maintenance. With this client, Chapman performed two major boiler outages in 2009, both in excess of 125,000 manhours with “0” recordable injuries.
We maintain all required weld procedures and stamp certifications to perform boiler work in accordance with applicable codes including:
- ASME Code Stamps “S” and “U” for power boilers and pressure vessels
- NBIC “R” Stamp for repairs
- Certified Welders – ASME Section IX
- Qualified Weld Procedures – ASME Section IX
- Certified Inspectors/Examiners – AWS-CWI; or SNT-TC 1A
- Material joining processes include SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, GMAW, as well as bonding and brazing
- Technical requirements including the ASME code Section 1, VIII Div 1, ASME B 31.1 and B31.3, ASME BPE, AWS Standards, API Standards as well as customer specific requirements.
