Working As Partners” with the Chemical Industry
ChemicalProfile

Chapman Corporation has considerable design, fabrication and construction experience for new facilities, expansions and modifications in industries that process or refine oil, petrochemicals, polymers, solvents, pigments, resins, coatings and other specialized chemicals used in thousands of everyday products.

Chapman's engineers, estimators and project managers have design, planning, scheduling, estimating, procurement and construction experience in various chemical processes as well as associated systems and units that:

  • Provide environmental protection through the installation of pollution control measures such as waste water treatment facilities, electrostatic precipitators, scrubbers, cooling towers and boxes, stacks, vaporizers, condensers or other measures; and
  • Increase productivity and product quality through new technologies that enhance reliability, efficiency of operations or safety.

As a turnkey contractor, Chapman self-performs every major discipline. Chapman is able to pour concrete foundations and platforms, erect the steel, and all other civil functions for housing structures as well as their associated support systems such as HVAC, lighting, sprinklers, security, phone, PA, etc.

Our mechanical expertise is utilized to set equipment and tie-in all interconnecting piping associated with boilers, reactors, storage tanks, pumps, motors, presses, roasters, crushers, dicers, cold boxes and conveyors. Chapman's electrical skills encompass all aspects of a plant's electrical power distribution system (main transformers, switchyards, switch gears and substations), instrumentation and controls.

Chapman's excellent safety record can be clearly attributed to its stringent accident prevention program. The safety program was custom-designed to provide a healthy work environment for our employees and those of our clients as well as to minimize the risk of human and economic losses which result in personal injury and property damage.

The company is responsible for employee compliance with all federal and state statutes through a plan that includes safety orientations, handbooks, bulletins, newsletters, meetings, surveys, reviews and personal protective equipment.

A full-time safety inspector is assigned to each site to assure safe working conditions at all times. Administration of the company's safety program is managed by a full-time corporate safety director who performs pre-job and ongoing site inspections to assure that project conditions and procedures conform with established policies.

Chapman's success with process industries can be clearly attributed to maintaining and executing the fundamentals of project management. Planning and detailing of each work item on a schedule together with the ability to adapt to changing conditions are essential ingredients to the early completion of projects as well as the elimination of cost overruns from concept through to commissioning and startup.
