Fabricated Pipe, Sheet, Duct & Plate for On-Time Installation
In addition to Chapman's engineering and construction expertise, we can supply fabricated pipe, sheet, duct and plate.

Ductwork, chutes and various plate fabrications are assembled from light gauge sheet and medium plate from 26 gauge galvanized, stainless and aluminum to 1/2" mild steel.

Our pipe fabricators are capable of handling carbon and stainless steel, alloy 20, aluminum, chrome-moly and nickel-based pipe in sizes ranging from one-half to 42 inches in diameter, and wall thickness from one-sixteenth to 4 inches. Chapman's capabilities have also extended to the fabrication and assembly of custom skids, modules and devices as well as exotic shapes.

Computerized Pipe Cutting Results in Savings
Vernon Pipe Cutter02Our computer-controlled, automated pipe cutting machine is a valuable asset to our Fabrication Shop.

The operator control console loads pre-programmed cuts for standard bevels, fish mouths, miters, multiple intersections, centerline offsets, elbow supports, gusset slots, and circular/rectangular holes. It can handle pipe sizes ranging from 3” to 42” in double random lengths. The torch travels the length of the profiling bed, enabling us to cut pipe 31' long without repositioning the pipe. It uses both Oxy Acetylene and Plasma cutting systems.

Chapman's draftsmen program cutting information from CAD-generated fabrication drawings on the Windows-based software which will be transferred from the Engineering Department to the machine via a connection on the company's computer network. Thousands of these custom-designed programs can be stored locally on the pipe cutting machine.

Square Ends
The pipe cutting machine compensates for bent or out-of-round pipe using an automatic sensor system. All height sensing as well as compensation operations are under computer control.

Efficient Handling
An efficient material handling system includes a integrated pipe conveyor system which results in easy loading and unloading into the cutting bed by an assistant or the operator.

No “Dress Up”
Programmable control eliminates manual measuring and marking; grinding of joints to “dress up” unsatisfactory pipe end profiles; and extra fit-up time.

Skilled Work Force
All Stamps02
Chapman Corporation holds the American Society of Mechanical Engineers' (ASME) "PP", "U" and "S" stamps, and the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors' "R" and "NB" stamps. Weld procedures are qualified routinely for stainless and carbon alloys as well as nickel-or-cobalt-based super alloys and dissimilar metal welds. Chapman's veteran work force utilizes Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc (GTAW) and Flux Core Arc (FCAW) weld processes at its work stations.

Indoor Sandblast / Paint Facilities Allow Year-Round Applications
Paint_Shop
Chapman's enclosed indoor painting facility can handle various coating applications year-round. Our painters are experienced in various industrial coatings - epoxies, zincs, urethanes, polyurethanes and coal tar epoxies. We have an indoor sandblasting area as well as over 40,000 square feet of storage and staging space.

Transportation
Truck_Fleet1You can count on Chapman for transporting your fabricated materials safely, efficiently and on-time to your site.
